Things never goes as planned
I started 2023 with a lower back tendonitis and had to stop playing golf from Mid december 2022 until early March 2023. (I believe that it was partly due an intensive golf training that I have done in Scotland and then couldn’t play anymore back in France due to the weather.)
While I was travelling in Scotland and Puerto Vallarta I met countless of people that helped me becoming my current self. I’ve learned my value, my worth and where I am heading to thanks to them and I’ll never forget this.
I met people that inspired me, and told me that I had the right to be happy and to move on with life and to not dwell in my past.
We are currently August 28th 2023 and eventhough the year is not over yet, I know a lot is to come.
Back to my year recap, I searched for golf tournaments in switzerland as I am working and living there for the season. And that’s when I found the Migros Golf Tour 2023. A tournament with an order of merit where all your scores matter and that you play to beat your previous round =).
My first tournament was on April 8th, a special date for me and I ended up 2nd in my category with 42 net stableford at Golfpark Waldkirch. (It was my first Milestone, I went from 39 to 31 in one tournament)…
The next tournaments weren’t that easy I played twice 32 so my hcp remained the same. (After these two rounds back to back at Oberkirch and Lagern I got an achille tendonitis on my left foot).
I decided at that time to stop the tournaments and rest for a month.
May 19th 2023, I played at Golfpark Moossee and played 37, I played great but it wasn’t enought to lower my hcp.
June 9th 2023, I played at Golfpark signal de bougy and this time i played 100 strokes and went from 31.6 to 29.8 and it was my first top 1 in the Migros Golf Tour.
June 16th 2023, I played at Gams Werdenberg and it was I believe one of the worst game of the season… I lost 6 or 7 balls, all went OB or in penalty area and I couldn’t play well at all… But I met there 3 amazing people that I will never forget =).
June 18th 2023, I played an extra day score card with a colleague and went from 29.8 to 29.6.
June 23rd 2023, another day where nothing goes your way, it was a hard course and there’s something I am too sensitive of is the bugs… I know it’s quite contradictory I play an outdoor sport but I don’t like bugs….
June 25th 2023, my first tournament in my golf course where I work and honestly i didn’t play great either but I learned from it !
July 1st 2023, finally I am in the top 3 in a tournament hosted by my golf club, with a score of 41 !!! (New hcp 28.5)
July 8th 2023, Oberkirch is one of those golf course where I can’t play correctly… but one day I’ll conqueer it !
July 15th 2023, a great day because i already played on this course I know what to play and how to play it. I ended up on the top 3 again with 41 net ! (New hcp 27.6)
From July 19th to July 23rd I went into a east golf trip in switzerland I played 3 courses in 5 days.
My first tournament went well, I played 36, my new hcp is 26.9 =)
My second tournament didn’t go as planned at all so I remained the same.
My third one is the best of my whole season so far, I played 44 and was first in my category ! I was 25.8 !
After that I had to take another golf break due to an arm injury.
August 18th 2023, Holzausern, I played not so good 31 and went back up to 26.5.
August 23rd 2023, Golfpark Bern Moossee is my last tournament where I played 37… and had my latest injury a muscle tear in my lower coastal area both right and left that makes it hard to breathe or to do anything… (New hcp 26.4)
So I am currently at rest for the next weeks to come, but that’s okay, I’ll come back stronger !
